Web Design in Kenya and Across Africa, Built to Be Found

Websites, SEO, GEO and AEO from one team. We design it, build it and get it found on Google and in AI answers.

Digital 4 Africa has offered web design in Kenya since 2014, building websites for corporates, NGOs, government agencies and growing businesses.

A website has two jobs. It has to win the customer who lands on it, and it has to be found in the first place. Today, being found means ranking on Google and being named when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude for a recommendation.

We build on WordPress, EmDash or AI tools, and we work with clients in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.

Web Design and Search Services

Do you need a new website, better rankings, or both?

Web design is the planning, design and build of your website. SEO helps it rank on Google. GEO and AEO help AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity understand your business and cite it in their answers.

Most businesses need all three, in that order. A site that looks good but cannot be found wins nobody. A site that ranks but loads slowly on a phone loses the customer at the door.

Every website we deliver includes

Mobile-first design for the phones your customers use
Fast loading on mobile data
Free SSL and security hardening
On-page SEO and schema markup
Google Analytics and Search Console set up
Pages AI assistants can read and quote
WhatsApp and click-to-call buttons
M-Pesa and card payments when you sell online
Training so your team can update the site
Domain, hosting and logins in your name

EmDash

Cloudflare’s new open-source CMS, built as a modern successor to WordPress. Now in beta preview.

EmDash Websites

An early look at what comes after WordPress

EmDash is an open-source content management system that Cloudflare released in April 2026. It is written in TypeScript, runs on Astro, and can be deployed on Cloudflare or on your own server.

Its biggest change is security. Every plugin runs in its own sandbox and can only do what it declares upfront, which targets the plugin weaknesses behind many WordPress hacks. It also comes ready for AI, with a built-in MCP server and agent skills.

EmDash is still in beta preview. We recommend it for new websites and pilots, not yet for moving a business-critical WordPress site. Ask us about a small pilot build or an EmDash readiness assessment.

Sandboxed Plugins

Each plugin runs in isolation and only gets the permissions it declares.

Built on Astro

Fast pages and a modern, type-safe codebase developers can trust.

Ready for AI Agents

A built-in MCP server, agent skills and a command line tool for automation.

WordPress Import

Bring existing WordPress content across when the time is right.

Vibe Coding Services

AI-built websites, made safe and ready for real customers.

Vibe Coding Services

Built it with AI? We make it production-ready.

Tools such as Lovable, Bolt, v0, Google AI Studio, Claude and ChatGPT can produce a working website in an afternoon. Working is not the same as ready. AI-built sites often ship with API keys in the code, missing access controls, open databases and pages search engines cannot read.

We audit what you have built, fix what is exposed and keep what already works. We also connect your own domain, set up hosting and business email, and make the site visible to Google and AI assistants. Prefer to start fresh? We can vibe code it with you, with an engineer reviewing every step.

Before you launch an AI-built site, check:

No API keys or passwords in the code
Every page and API asks for the right login
Database access rules are switched on
Forms check what users type
Dependencies are up to date
Search engines can read the pages
Domain and hosting are in your name

Compare Website Platforms

WordPress, EmDash and vibe coding each win in different situations

We compare platforms on who will edit the site, how mature the ecosystem is, how secure it is out of the box and what it costs to run. Platforms change quickly, so we review this table regularly. Last checked: October 2026.

Which should you choose?

Choose WordPress for most business websites and online stores. Consider EmDash for new builds if you want a modern, secure platform and can accept a young ecosystem. Use vibe coding for fast prototypes and landing pages, but have the code reviewed before real customers use it.

WordPress EmDash Vibe coded (AI-built)
Best for Most business websites, online stores and content-heavy sites New builds where you want a modern, secure foundation Prototypes, landing pages, internal tools and early products
Editing content Visual editor your team can learn in an afternoon Clean admin panel with structured content. No drag-and-drop page builder yet Usually through code or AI prompts
Maturity Over 20 years old, with a huge plugin and developer ecosystem Released by Cloudflare in April 2026 and still in beta preview Depends on the tool. The code needs review before launch
Security Strong when kept updated. Outdated plugins are the main risk Each plugin runs in its own sandbox with declared permissions Common gaps include exposed API keys and missing access controls
Our advice The safe default for most businesses Pilot it on new builds. Wait before moving a business-critical site Great for speed. Have it audited before real customers use it

SEO

Rank on Google for the searches that bring in customers.

SEO Services in Kenya

Technical SEO, content and local search, reported in plain English

SEO, or search engine optimisation, helps your pages rank on Google for the searches your customers make. We start with a technical audit of speed, mobile usability and indexing. We research the keywords your buyers actually use, then optimise your pages and write content that answers their questions.

Every month you get a short report on rankings, traffic and enquiries, with the work we did and what comes next.

Case study: ZUMA

Zettu Unified Martial Arts teaches karate, judo, taekwondo and self-defence in Nairobi. We built the website, wrote the copy and ran the SEO.

The website is now ZUMA’s main source of leads and conversions.

GEO and AEO

Get named when customers ask AI for a recommendation.

GEO and AEO Services

SEO gets you ranked. GEO and AEO get you cited.

AEO, or answer engine optimisation, shapes your content so it can appear as a direct answer in featured snippets, voice search and Google’s AI Overviews. GEO, or generative engine optimisation, helps AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity understand your business and recommend it.

We make your key answers clear and quotable, add schema markup, check that AI crawlers can reach your site, and build a consistent presence on the sources AI assistants read. Then we test how the main assistants describe your business, and track it over time.

Clear, Quotable Answers

Pages written so the answer to each customer question is easy to lift and cite.

Schema Markup

Structured data that tells search engines and AI exactly who you are and what you offer.

AI Crawler Access

Your site readable by the crawlers that feed AI assistants, without heavy scripts in the way.

AI Visibility Tracking

Regular checks on how ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe your business.

How Much Does a Website Cost in Kenya?

Indicative 2026 prices, so you can budget before we talk

With Digital 4 Africa, a professional business website typically costs KES 60,000 to 180,000. An e-commerce website costs KES 150,000 to 450,000, and a custom corporate website starts from about KES 180,000.

The final price depends on four things: the number of pages, features such as payments or bookings, who writes the content, and how much SEO work you need.

Why do website quotes vary so much?

Two quotes for the same website can differ several times over. The cheaper one often leaves out content, SEO, security or training, and the gaps show up later as a rebuild. Compare quotes line by line, not by the total.

Service Indicative price (KES) Good for
Landing page or one-page site 30,000 to 70,000 Campaigns, events and new products

SEO retainer 30,000 to 150,000 per month Steady growth in Google rankings
GEO and AEO audit (one-off) 30,000 to 80,000 Checking how AI assistants see your business
GEO and AEO retainer 40,000 to 150,000 per month Getting cited in AI answers over time
