Why You Should Activate 2FA On Your Client’s Social Media Accounts.

There is a rising trend of hacking on Facebook and Instagram. Hackers are able to gain access to user accounts and posts, oftentimes deleting them or changing the content. This can be very damaging for businesses and individuals who use these platforms for marketing or communication purposes.

Luckily, there is a solution that can help reduce the risk of being hacked: two-factor authentication (2FA). When 2FA is enabled, it adds an extra layer of security to your email account and social media networks by requiring an additional verification code after you enter your username and password.

Most major email providers (Gmail, Outlook) offer 2FA as well as many social media networks (Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter). To enable 2FA on your email account: 1) open the settings menu; 2) select “accounts” or “security”; 3) find the “two-step verification” section; 4) follow the instructions to enable it.

How to enable 2FA on Facebook:

1) open Settings.

2) select Security and Login from the left menu bar.

3a) under Two-Factor Authentication turn on either Text Message or Code Generator Authentication methods depending upon how you want to receive authentication codes);

3b ) if you have an authenticator app installed on your phone such as Google Authenticator, Authy, etc., then turn ON App Password.

4 ) Click Save Changes.

5 ) You will now be prompted to enter a six-digit code whenever you log into Facebook from a new device; this will be sent via text message if you chose Text Message Authentication OR generated by your authenticator app if you chose Code Generator Authentication.

6 ) To disable two factor authentication go back into Security & Login settings > Two Factor Authentication > Edit > Disable .

How to enable two-factor authentication on Instagram,

1] Go into Settings Icon in Profile Tab

2] Scroll down until you see the “Two-Factor Authorization” Option Under “Security” Section

3] Tap the Turn On Button next To “Require Security Code” And Choose What Type Of Codes You’d Like to Receive Via Email Or SMS.

The best way to protect yourself from being hacked is by using two-factor authentication whenever possible! It’s easy to set up and makes it much more difficult for hackers to gain access to your accounts.
